The local garage thinks it is a problem with the cam sensor.
New distributor cap costs 500 + vat before fitting and a 2 month wait for the part.
Exploring the situation atm.

Have you checked the Two way valve in the fuel filler cap.

Hi did you find the problem.
I've got the same problem.
Changed the crank sensor. Fuel filter.
Had AA out but NOT SOLVED
